I was born in Novosibirsk in 1964. I moved to Nobokusnetsk in 1974, where I went to a to a school specialising in art and musical, but after my parents went to work abroad, I moved to Moscow and continued my education in special private school (one usually reserved for diplomats, etc.). In 1980 I went to art school where I studied design and graphics. After art school, I went to nursing college. I then moved to Sevastopol. I did a few works in oil and some sculpture for the Sevastopol Gallery under an open sky. After perestroika I started a textile business, then a kennel club and marriage agency. In 2003 I moved to England and, having a new-born, baby started to paint again. So far, I have sold my works through a couple of galleries in the UK and have also sold some internationally through the internet and have done several commissions.

I was born in Stevenage in 1958. So after, I moved to Devon. I went to a number of schools, including Sherbourne and Tavistock college. After school, I studied art history and criticism. I was married soon after leaving collage, and, because of immediate financial needs, etc, did not go into a career in art. Instead I painted as an amateur. When I was about 40, I split up from my first wife and was able to turn back to an artistic career. On marrying Olga, this change became complete and we have been working together ever since. I have been selling my pictures through a gallery in the UK and two overseas, as well as using the internet to reach a wider audience. I have also done several commissions. .

My life as an artist began in Moscow in an ordinary art school. I didn't always know I would be an artist. I never liked drawing or painting but my tutors always told me I could be good artist if I was not so lazy; they said that I should do more work for art study and not keep creating something new. Everything has been done before me and I must study the styles of other artists. But I always thought that what made another people great was not interesting any more; what was interesting was the process of painting; for me, a picture dies it's finished. After I finished art school, I forgot about painting for a long time. After I had married and moved to England, my husband bought me a child's watercolour set. We were quite in need of money. First, I painted a dog which sold immediately; but I really hated doing it; if paint, need paint what you really like - what you really can do best. Colours and composition are my passion, I enjoy making "mess" and creating from it a picture.... Even after finishing a picture lot of people say that my paintings have a lot movement and life - I hope they do. I know if you want say something to people you can try to do it with art - everyone can do it!!!

I started drawing as soon as I could see; I was born blind for the first several months after my birth, but, as soon as I could see, my grandfather taught me to draw on the walls of the house (much to my mother's disgust). From there, I've been drawing and painting ever since as well as occasionally making pieces of sculpture. During my first marriage, I was unable to follow an artistic carrier. Most, if not all, of my work from that time has now been destroyed, or, at least, thrown away. Since marrying Olga, I have gone back to producing artworks. We spark ideas off each other and have produced a lot of work. We have both been able to sell pictures, which encourages us to keep going; knowing that some people do like what we do. The work I currently do is interested with depicting the human form as a shape which might me considered two and three dimensionally. I suppose it is meant to work on sever levels, but, most of all, to convey emotion and feeling felt when painting it. Of course, there are other ways in which they are meant to work, such us the lightness of being and the isolation of the individual, but that's for the viewer to find out (I hope).

All paintings on this site are available for sale - please contact us if you wish to discuss a commission or buy any painting from the gallery.
